For all the talk about a team not needing a star and not needing a "face of the franchise", Raptors
fans, and ball forums would say otherwise.
We said we wanted to see young, athletic guys get after it and see the team built properly and many said that marketing a star is nonsense.
Seems to me that if you want interest in your team, the order of importance is:
2) get a star
3) sell hope for the future
I'll say this. The Clippers have a worse record and less chance of making the playoffs than we do. But if Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon where here, there wouldn't be so many talking about losing interest and the forums would be jumping.
