DETROIT — Kwame Brown and the Detroit Pistons agreed on two-year deal — including a player option for the second season — worth US$8 million, team president of basketball operations Joe Dumars told The Associated Press on Monday night.
Brown, the No. 1 pick overall in 2001, has averaged just 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds over his career that started with the Washington Wizards and continued with the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies.
He had the best season of his NBA career with the Wizards four years ago, when he averaged 10.9 points and 7.4 rebounds.
Kind of an odd signing as I don't know what type of a role he will play. That being said, he's been living off of his first overall pick status for a while now. He looked terrible last season.
