Last year we split the season in two and the top 12 from each half made it to the playoff round. When the same people made it into the top 12 spots for each half, I did some tricky figuring to delete the lower of the two scores and allow another player's score to be counted in it's place, so that there would be a total of 24 going into the playoffs.
This season I'd like to split the season into three parts, and have the top ten make it into the playoffs. If there are duplicate placings, it's just going to mean fewer competitors in the playoffs. I would guess that there would be 20-25 players advancing at the end of the regular season.
The top score in each of the 3 rounds in the regular season will win a bonus point that gets carried over to the playoff round. And a bonus point will be awarded to any player that makes an additional top 10 finish beyond their initial qualifying finish.
In the case of ties - the player with the higher number of o/u points will move ahead. If a tie still exists for the top spot, or the final qualifying spot, there will be a tie-breaker involving all the over/unders of all NBA games the following night, with entries done by PM to me only. Guesses of the final scores in those games will be used, if needed to break any ties after that.
I will not be included in the playoff rounds. I'll only play along for my own amusement, and take my name out of the standings at the end of each round in the reg. season.
The first round will consist of 28 games and end on DECEMBER 19 following the 1pm game against the Lakers.
The second round will consist of 27 games and end on FEBRUARY 13 following the 6pm game against the Clippers.
The third round will consist of 27 games and end on APRIL 13 following the game against the Heat.
