Playing him off the bench is intelligent.
The guy has shown he isn't ready to be a prime time player, so why rush him?
Get him time against second units at his natural positions.
The number one pick is a sunk cost at this point. You can't say, "oh, he was the number one pick, so we have to play him 30 minutes per game" The pick has been used and Bargnani
is a Raptor. Maybe that kind of attitude comes in to play for the first year or so, because you want to get your big pick some playing time.
But now, when this team is ready to contend in the East, you play him just like you would any other player on your team, and that's in the way that is going to benefit the team most.
We're past the point where we should be sacrificing any sort of team success for Andrea's development.
