What's funny to me is the Raptors are almost worth as much as the leafs and more then the Canadians. These were the numbers a few years ago. How is this possible?

The Toronto Maple Leafs held down top spot in Forbesí list of the most valuable NHL franchises released Wednesday.

The business magazine judges the Leafs to be worth $448 million US, based on a formula which values the team at about 2.4 times annual revenue. The New York Rangers are second at $411 million and the Montreal Canadiens are third at $334 million.
According to Forbes Toronto is No. 14 in terms of most valuable NBA franchises (value soared 18% from last year):

Team Value $373 mil

1-Yr Value Chg. 18%
Ann. Value Chg. 2 13%
Debt/Value 3 44%
Revenue 4 $124 mil
Operating Inc. 5 $28.8 mil
Player Expenses 6 $57 mil
Gate Receipts 7 $37 mil
Forbes: Raptors worth $373 mil
