No doubt last night's game was awesome.... but for my money those 2 Jr. games between CAN and the USA were probably 2 of the best games that I've ever seen in my life.

The States are going to be a serious power in 2014.
The WJC's are always good. But the skill level and star power was so vastly superior at the olympics, that it's hard to put the WJCs ahead of the Olympics. At the WJCs, the only teams you really look out for are the US, Sweden, Canada and the Russians. At the Olympics, every team has a fantastic shot at making the finals. Slovakia was so close to making the gold medal finals. Finland had a good shot until they had a 1st period meltdown in the semis.

As for the States being a serious power in 2014, they'll be better, but the Canadians still have a embarassment of riches when it'll come to Sochi. Guys who didn't make team this year like Stamkos, like Matt Duchesne, like John Tavares, like Tyler Myers and probably like Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin are going to make the squad.
