It's as if God created chili sauce for the sole purpose of making Chinese food as delicious as possible. Gotta have it.
And as far as making Pho goes, what a pain! The broth is a day-long project, literally, and it's a science. I have a Vietnamese friend and his mom keeps a tub of Pho broth in the cabinet so I've had the pleasure of eating homemade Pho for the past couple years.
Pho Hung at the edge of Chinatown and Pho 88 (Dundas and Spadina I believe) are my go-to guys.
