I think it's a combination of lack of accessibility and the fact that Hockey has lost some people, myself and some friends included. More then at any other time before, the leafs aren't the only game in town and with Toronto FC, Toronto Raptors
and combined with many incoming immigrant in the last 10+yrs being more interested in those games have made a big difference.
Hockey will always rule the sports landscape in Canada, but let's just hope that in the future there is far more balance. Because right now in sports media in this country it's 80% Hockey talk and 20% everything else. And that's ashame.
