Let's Break the House!!!
I’m new to this blogging thing (shit, it took me a minute to think if the word is spelled with one g or two) but I do know sportsbook betting. Spenda told me of a forum he just joined which I could help to bring a different take on this “hobby” of ours. (I’m more of the “fuck it, go big or go home” type of gambler than he is AND sportsbetting is my passion for playin cards isn't really my game)
My sports wagering history goes back to my college days when family relatives were told to only give me gift cards instead of cash due to my “habits.” (I just love betting on the sports. I’m pretty sure, I’ve bet on everything and anything at least twice, whether it was F1 racing, arena football or the annual Nathan’s hot dog eating contest…that’s is either called love or being a degenerate to the fullest) My hobby didn’t waver when I needed to get my Dad’s approval to access my childhood savings for an NBA Championship future prop bet prompting him to call me “an idiot and embarrassment of a son.” And it still treks along now as sports betting has been my main source of income since last July.
As I paint this picture of me being a degenerate sportsbook gambler I will say that my picks, luck, and, at times, illness has enabled me to have enjoyed this vice for about 9 years. I am not claiming that I am THE handicapper, for I too dream, like every other man, that I had Marty McFly’s sports almanac from Back to the Future 2…getting off topic… but I do have a set of “rules/guidelines” that I feel have helped me along the way, for I’ve tried every system/theory I’ve ever come across and am still tweaking MY system.
I’ll post my picks and thoughts about the games I am going to take here on this site. Take them for what its worth…discuss them, play them or fade them, cuz ultimately it’s gonna fall on you. One rule of thumb (there are always general rules…like when someone’s hand accidentally hits the dice at the craps tables and you know the shooter is then gonna crap out before they hit their point…why? Just because it’s “one of those general rules” anyways, getting off topic again) I suggest beginners start on a standard “unit” betting scale. That’s where each unit represents an amount of money. For example if a unit was to be representative of 50 dollars than a three unit bet would be 150 dollars. I’ll post my picks anywhere from 1-4 units on this site to make it easy for anyone who chooses to follow me.
Dang, I feel like I can write, at least, 5 more pages on guidelines on “smart” bets and “sucka” bets.
BOTTOM LINE as my lil homie Shortround would say “Hold on to your potatoes, we go for ride.” (I hope you are brushed up on your Indiana Jones 2 lingo, otherwise that just went over your head)
