Born March 24, 1984, Chris Bosh grew into a young man keen on family life and of course, basketball. Bosh has made clear the biggest influences in his life are his parents whom he says are accountable for his pleasant personality. Apart from his parents' influences, he models his play on the courts around his favorite athlete, NBA great, Kevin Garnett. It wasn't until fourth grade that Bosh started to really learn the game of basketball, and he quickly owned the rebound on his home town court as a child due to his above average height. He went on to lead Lincoln High School in Dallas to the number one ranking in the country with a perfect 40-0 season.
Chris finished high school with good grades and went on to Georgia Tech college. His college career was cut short however, after just one year when he entered the 2003 NBA Draft. In a tough draft class, Bosh was scooped fourth overall by the Toronto Raptors. Wearing Raptors jersey #4, Bosh was quickly recognized as one of the most grounded young greats in the league. A number of accomplishments have been achieved by Chris Bosh since he put on his #4 Raptors jersey, such as a four-time NBA All-Star, named to the All-NBA team, and his appearance for the US National team in which he won a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics. The Chris Bosh Raptors jersey has given Bosh a new nickname, first dubbed by Chuck Swirsky, a former Raptors commentator - "CB4". The nickname holds true to his initials and Chris Bosh Raptors jersey number.
As the Raptors power forward, Chris Bosh led the team to their first NBA Playoffs in five years along with their first ever division title. In addition, no other Raptors jersey on the court pulls in more rebounds, blocks, double doubles, free throws made and attempted and minutes played than that of his. Chris Bosh is undoubtedly a fitting replacement for Vince Carter as the franchise face and leader for the Toronto Raptors.
